MENU PLAN March Week 1

You don’t need some wacky diet to lose weight.  You just need to roll-up your sleeves and get cooking!  Why would anyone purchase processed packaged diet meals – laced with preservatives and chemicals when they can easily create delicious fresh whole food meals in their own kitchen.  Nourish yourself and your family this week with some home cooked PCOS friendly dinners.

MEATLESS MONDAY – Cuban Black Bean Patties with Pineapple Rice Make sure to use brown rice instead of the white.  Add some sautéed greens like chard, kale or spinach to round out the meal.

TUESDAY Marmalade Chicken I’ll serve with Three Grain Pilaf.  I am trying to add more whole grain to my diet and this pilaf includes quinoa and millet.  I’ll also serve some sautéed brocollini

WEDNESDAY Salmon with Pepita Lime Butter I will probably serve with leftover pilaf and some steamed veggies

THURSDAY North Woods Bean Soup This soup is a family favorite.  Serve with some crusty whole grain bread or Udi’s gluten free whole grain bread

FRIDAY Cincinatti Turkey Chili If you have never tried this type of chili you are in for a treat.  I will use brown rice pasta and serve with a mixed green salad.

    I just want to tell you that I absolutely LOVE this blog! I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. At first, my doctor made it seem like it was no big deal…she said all I need to do was lose a few pounds and take birth control pills. For months I didn’t think much of it, until my hair started falling out uncontrollably. I started reading more about it online and I’ve realized that this will be a lifelong battle that will require significant life changes…but good life changes. I’m so pleased to come across this blog as a way to help me manage my PCOS. So far I’ve started an exercise regimen and acupuncture. I’m considering the Insulite PCOS System, so I found your post on that to be quite helpful (and thanks for the full disclosure). Have you started taking the Insulite supplements again? Do you think the system has enough of each natural supplement in it or would it be more effective to buy them separately?

    I have a request. If you haven’t already, can you please do a post on snacks. I notice you post your meal plans, which are great, but I’m trying to figure out how to curb my snacking. What snacks are okay for you and which ones you stay away from? Are there any besides fruit and nuts that you like?

      Thanks Abi! I also like protein smoothies, hummus & veggies, fresh guacamole & a few whole grain chips, hard boiled egg. I’ll post more in a blog post soon. I haven’t started the Insulite again. My body has healed to the point where I don’t need a lot of supplements to feel or look good anymore. Insulite is a great place to start but you can certainly buy them on your own separately.

        Thanks! I’m curious to know the brand of whole grain chips you buy. I’m such a chip fanatic.
