PCOS Foundation – PCOS Awareness Month Events

I was thrilled to be asked by Andranique Henry, Program Director at the PCOS Foundation to be a speaker at the 2013 PCOS Symposium in Houston, TX on September 29th.  There are few and far between events for women with PCOS to come together and learn from experts and one another.  I am honored to be part of this event.  If you are there, please come and say hi!  I look forward to meeting some PCOS Divas in person!

I asked Andrinique if she would share some details on the two big events the PCOS Foundation is running this September.

We are currently serving the Houston community, and have two events in September during PCOS National Awareness Month.  

“Take a stand; take a step for the millions of women affected with PCOS.” We are hosting our fourth annual, Amerejuve 2013 PCOS Awareness 5K Fun Run and Walk where this year, we have incorporated stairs to symbolize the STEPS in which patients go through for finding a solution to preventing diseases and symptoms associated with PCOS. Along with our 5K, we are also organizing our 2013 PCOS Foundation Symposium, a one day, free educational symposium that includes food, lectures, workshops and breakout sessions learning more about PCOS. We highly encourage participant involvement and interaction! A free lunch is provided for all attendees.

Our programs and events not only raise funds and awareness, but also encourage a healthy lifestyle, targeting women with PCOS and the people of Houston. We believe that community involvement, health and wellness are key factors in maintaining the cities’ wellbeing.  A healthy population creates happiness, brings the community together and most of all, increases the quality of life.  Your involvement in our health related cause can help us reach even more women. We would like to ask for your help and support in spreading awareness and invite you to be a part of our cause.
