“Autumn embraces change, even as she is falling to pieces.”
— Angie Weiland Crosby
As the liveliness and bright energy of summer diminishes, our focus goes from vacationing and summer leisure to apple picking, pumpkin spice and sweater weather.
As much as I love the autumn season, I would always end up sick with allergies, colds and digestive issues. My immune system would plummet heading into the holidays. By Thanksgiving, I would be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and fatigued and my PCOS symptoms, like sugar cravings, would be in full swing. I didn’t know how I’d make it through the holiday season in one piece.
Autumn can deplete our system, lower immunity and lower resistance to illness. Just like leaves on the trees change, we too must transition to prepare for the winter ahead.
