The Secret to Thicker, Fuller Looking Hair
I have written about my hair loss struggles quite often on PCOS Diva. I am happy to report that my hair is doing well right now. I attribute this to sticking with my gluten-free lifestyle. Whenever I deviate from going gluten-free, I experience hair loss.
While I’ll never have a thick long mane of glossy curls, I do the best with what nature has given me. One quick, safe and effective solution to make my thin hair seem thicker, is hair fibers. I have written about them in the past, but recently tried a new product called KeraFiber and have been extremely pleased. It instantly builds your hair with natural keratin protein fiber and adds thickness and fullness to your hair in seconds.
I had my husband take some before and after pics this morning. It literally was seconds between shots as I sprinkled the keratin fibers onto my scalp. There are many color choices and I use the medium brown color.
How it Works
KeraFiber hair fibers are made of all natural organic keratin protein, the same protein that
hair is made of. The fibers are charged with static electricity so they intertwine with your own hair and bond securely. Just shake on the fibers and they stay in place all day, all night. KeraFiber fibers are undetectable, even as close as a few inches away. The hair fibers really look exactly like your hair and bond with your existing hair. Once the fibers are set in place they will not come off until you wash your hair.
I spray a little of my favorite hairspray – right now I am using Aveda Control Force to set them and keep them in place.
If you are despairing about your PCOS related hair loss, please give hair fibers like KeraFiber a shot. I think you will love the product!
So how long does one “container” of the product last you?
I have tried this in the past, and it really does make a difference. I have lost quite a bit more hair, so this is no longer an option I can use. I’ve since moved on to bandanas, hats, and wigs. I’m more of a hat/bandana person and am having trouble finding a wig that I feel looks natural on me. I’m currently pregnant with my 3rd child(due in mid-April…note, I have had 3 miscarriages also, so making it to the end isn’t a guarantee). I’m scared to make too many diet changes, or I’d try going gluten free to see if my hair would come back.
I just started using KeraFiber but I will say a little goes a long way.
Thanks for sharing Amy. I used to use Toppik and another brand, but I started to lose hair. Perhaps it was just a coincidence? Or maybe their fibers have harsh chemicals in it and this one does not. I am too far gone for fibers now.
This sounds like a good product to hide the hairloss while you address it and treat it!!!
Hi
Who should I see for the severe hair loss? dermatologist? endocrinologist?Gynecologist?
I have read through your previous post regarding what works for you, however most of the medication require a doctors prescription….
TIA
I would start with your endocrinologist.
I have had great results with Morocco Method Shampoo System.
Does it stay on after wearing a helmet while biking?
Thank you so much for sharing this!!! Now if there could be a truly good product/treatment for getting the hair to STOP growing in places I don’t want it!! Did you use the hairline optimizer they sell also or just style as usual?
I’ve been using toppik and I think my hair has thinned a lot more. My hairdresser thinks it’s clogging my pores.
You could look into vaniqua. It doesn’t stop it, and it isnt for everyone. But it is a cream to be used twice a day in the hairy places and results have shown a decrease in hair growth by up to 80%. I am going to be trying this next as my pill and diet seem to not be doing anything to change this.
I love nuhairrx serum It makes my hair soooo manageable! Also love the gel. I use them together….I recommend highly!!
Your blog is really useful for many people I think. Because many times I have found the useful information which was really important for me. Reading this your post is good. I deal in hair replacement service nyc.
Hi Amy. I was diagnosed 10 years ago and my clinician was clueless and still is. So I did alot of research and there wasnt alot out there. Ive been using one website on PCOS for a about 5 years reading articles and recently yours:).
I came across this website and got in touch with the founder and he has dealt with many women with androgenic alopecia. Just thought I would share. He reversed his hairloss !! I didnt buy his ebook as treatment for PCOS is slightly different and so he gave me an email response – he was very helpful 🙂

does it have any side effects? can you use this on a 10 years old?
I was mainly replying to Melissa (I am not used to this message board) There are side effects as with any treatment cream, usually the more common are things like acne, as you are covering pours with a treatment, I have heard of ingrown hairs being a less common side effect but honestly, I get them anyway and since using, I haven’t had anymore than normal. But most side effects such as acne will start to face in time as your skin gets used to the treatment.
For more information on whether it is suitable for 10 year olds or possible side effects, I would speak to your GP or maybe better, speak with them themselves, they may be able to help further – http://www.vaniqa.com/
