A PCOS Diva Holiday Wish List
by Amy Medling, founder of PCOS Diva
There is no greater gift than self-care. It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Whether you choose a few of these items for yourself or for a loved one, I guarantee, they’ll be a hit. Share this list with the gift-givers in your life. A little hint goes a long way (at my house at least).
Unimi Sleep Mask
I have tried lots of sleep masks over the years, but this one is my current favorite. Sleep masks have helped me get my best night’s sleep and have been shown in studies to increase melatonin levels which is helpful for women with PCOS! This mask makes a great stocking stuffer.
Phillips Wake up Light Alarm Clock
PCOS Divas love their early morning routines. This alarm clock makes it so much easier to get out of bed with a simulated sunrise and the sound of birds chirping.
Blue light blocking glasses
These glasses have helped my sleep improve. I pop these on in the evening to avoid blue light from screens and the environment which mess up my circadian rhythm.
Daily Joy: 365 Days of Inspiration
This book from National Geographic is filled with beautiful photography and quotes. It sits on my desk and flipping through it is part of my morning routine. I’ve used this book for years, and it is still my favorite place for inspirational quotes. There are several books in the series – Daily Gratitude, Daily Calm, Daily Love, and more.
Bee House Teapot
I don’t think there is a day that goes by where I don’t use my single serving Bee House Teapot. Tea is so healing for PCOS, and this little teapot is truly one of my favorite things.
Healthy Human Smoothie Tumbler
I’ve recently discovered this amazing tumbler that I can now no longer live without. It keeps my morning smoothie fresh and cold for hours, so I can sip on it slowly. The tumbler includes a lid, stainless steel straw, and the essential brush for straw cleaning. I have the 20 oz size for my smoothies and the larger 32 oz size for warm water and lemon. It keeps it warm for hours even in the car on cold blustery days.
Pique Spearmint Green Tea Crystals
Spearmint and green tea are both helpful for women with PCOS. These organic tea crystals mix instantly in hot or cold water and are triple screened for toxins and impurities. No tea bags and no steeping is required. Simply tear, mix, and drink. Pique is also offering a Holiday Gift Bundle with a large assortment of their teas which I’ve purchased for several friends this year.
Spire Stone: Stress Manager
I love my Spire. Like many women with PCOS, I’m prone to daily anxiety and stress. This wonderful little gadget monitors my breathing, alerts me when it is shallow, and reminds me to take a mindful moment and breathe amid life’s business. It helps me to manage my breathing, which in turn helps me manage my stress and anxiety.
Tria Hair Removal Laser
This is still the gold standard for at-home laser hair removal. I received my Tria as a gift many years ago and have loved it ever since. You can read about my experience with the Tria here. This is a great gift for women struggling with hirsutism (if you have light skin and dark hair).
Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia Perfume
I only use perfume spray or essential oil blends that are free from parabens, phthalates, and other endocrine disruptors. Gardenia are my favorite flower, and I love this spray. I always receive compliments when I wear it.
Illume Candles
Who doesn’t love a beautifully scented candle? But I want to make sure that I use candles that have a clean burn, with a metal-free wicks, and are phthalate free. That is why I love Illume candles. Winter White is my new favorite scent.
Circadian Optics Lumos Light Therapy Lamp
This light helps to beat Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and circadian rhythm disruptions which many women with PCOS have. This lamp has made my winters much brighter!
Healing PCOS
Of course, my list wouldn’t be complete without a mention of my book Healing PCOS.
